Table 2 shows the average hourly salary for all occupations in Virginia in 5 percentile scales. The average hourly salary for the 90th percentile is $48.14. The median hourly salary is $17.61. The average hourly salary for the bottom 10 percent is $8.64.
Table 3 shows the median annual salary of all occupations in some Virginia cities and metropolitan areas. We note that the median annual salary of all occupations in state of Virginia ranges from $27,060 to $35,790. The highest paying area for all occupations in Virginia is Richmond with a median annual salary of $35,790. The second highest paying city/area in Virginia State is Charlottesville (mean annual salary $34,140). The lowest paying area is Southwestern Virginia nonmetropolitan area with a median annual salary of $27,060.
