Table 2 shows the average hourly salary for all occupations in Illinois in 5 percentile scales. The average hourly salary for the 90th percentile is $42.83. The median hourly salary is $17.05. The average hourly salary for the bottom 10 percent is $9.01.
Table 3 shows the median annual salary of all occupations in some Illinois cities and metropolitan areas. We note that the median annual salary of all occupations in state of Illinois ranges from $28,400 to $37,190. The highest paying area for all occupations in Illinois is Chicago-Joliet-Naperville (IL Metropolitan Division) with a median annual salary of $37,190. The second highest paying city/area in Illinois State is Chicago-Joliet-Naperville (IL-IN-WI Area) (mean annual salary $36,830). The lowest paying area is East Central Illinois nonmetropolitan area with a median annual salary of $28,400.
