Table 2 shows the average hourly salary for all occupations in Iowa in 5 percentile scales. The average hourly salary for the 90th percentile is $33.27. The median hourly salary is $15.33. The average hourly salary for the bottom 10 percent is $8.49.
Table 3 shows the median annual salary of all occupations in some Iowa cities and metropolitan areas. We note that the median annual salary of all occupations in state of Iowa ranges from $28,670 to $36,420. The highest paying area for all occupations in Iowa is Iowa City with a median annual salary of $36,420. The second highest paying city/area in Iowa State is Des Moines-West Des Moines (mean annual salary $35,960). The lowest paying area is Southwest Iowa nonmetropolitan area with a median annual salary of $28,670.
